Our main focus is the supply of simple and complex parts to the automotive industry, both South African and international. Formex has developed world-class business strategies to meet the stringent requirements of our global customers. We are able to produce the volumes of products required by our automotive customers, both locally and abroad. Formex leads the way in South Africa when it comes to pressing and tubing. Our updated offerings include metal pressings, welded assemblies, laser tube welding, tube manipulation and perforated tubing. We supply parts and components to original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and 1st Tier automotive suppliers.

We are located in the Nelson Mandela Bay metropolitan area on the East Coast of South Africa. This entire region is home to the largest automotive cluster in the country and, as such, is the perfect home for Formex. Our strategic location makes us a primary driving force in this economic hotspot and a dependable contributor to the national economy. We employ over 500 people and support industry transformation and equality.

Formex automotive clients 

We have long-standing relationships with many OEMs and automotive supply companies. We manufacture various products for three OEMs; Volkwagen, Ford MBSA and Toyota. Our 1st Tier customers include Tenneco Automotive, Eberspächer, Faurecia, Benteler and Katcon. Through these 1st Tier suppliers, our products are used on most automotive brands, including VW, Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Volvo, Renault, Peugeot, Citroën, Chrysler and GM.

This list of customers is a testament to our ability to meet capacity requirements and the strict international quality controls of major vehicle brands. This is largely due to our ownership structure; Formex is wholly owned by Deneb Investments Limited, a subsidiary of Hosken Consolidated Investments Limited (HCI). 

These parent companies provide stable financial backing and support so that Formex may lead the way in the South African automotive parts sector. We hold ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and B-BBEE Level 2 accreditations with an 80% black-owned and 40% black women-owned structure.
